On Wednesday, March 18th, 2020 Borhan Kamangar, living in Kamyaran City was summoned to do his time and transferred to the prison. He was sentenced to 2 years imprisonment by Kurdistan Appeal Court.
According to Human Rights in Iran quoting from Kurdistan Human Rights Channel, on March 18th, 2020 Borhan Kamangar who was found guilty of “being a member of the Kurdistan Hayat Party (Pejak)” and sentenced to 2 years imprisonment, was summoned and transferred to Kamyaran Prison.
The aforementioned accused was at first in December 2019 found guilty by Branch 1 of Sanandaj Revolution Court under the supervision of Judge Saeedi and sentenced to 5 years imprisonment for being “member of Kurdistan Hayat Party (Pejak)”. After appealing, the case was retried in Kurdistan Appeal Court and the sentence was reduced to 2 years.
It is good to bear in mind that Borhan Kamangar is Hossein Kamangar’s nephew, another civil activist under arrest since the 5th of January 2019 while there was a vast wave of arresting civil and environmental activists in Kamyaran by Intelligent Services.
